Governing Council Biographies

Our Governing Council to support Dragon Boat USA and the paddling community.

Chairperson - Jim O'Dell
Chairperson - Jim O'Dell
Jim is in his second stint as Chairperson and is in a leading position within the Local Organizing Committee for the ICF Dragon Boat World Championships on his home waters of Lake Lanier, site of the 1996 Olympic Sprint Kayak/Canoe events as well as the 2003 ICF Sprint World Championships.

Jim has competed with DBUSA in Hungary, Poland and Russia as both a steersman and paddler. He is also the head coach of the Hong Kong Atlanta Dragon Boat Festival, and is the High Performance Coach at the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club.
Treasurer - Randy Crow
Treasurer - Randy Crow
Randy has served DBUSA on the Governing Council as the Athlete Rep before his current role as Treasurer. In this role Randy has already worked to ensure transparency.

Randy has competed with DBUSA in Italy and Poland as both a steersman and paddler, and is in charge of his home team, Organized Chaos.
Secretary - Beth Schatzberg
Secretary - Beth Schatzberg
Beth brings a wealth of leadership experience in her new role with DBUSA. She is legal counsel for the court and will be working with the Governing Counsel in our adherence to non-profit rules and regulations.

Beth has competed with DBUSA in Poland and Russia as a paddler and is very involved with her local club.
Athlete Representative -  Prabhu Ramkumar
Athlete Representative - Prabhu Ramkumar
Prahbu brings his calm yet competitive demeanor to the Governing Council of DBUSA well suited for this role. He is a main point of contact for athletes' feedback and coaches discussions with athletes.

Prabhu has competed with DBUSA at Poland and Russia as a paddler. He is a key player for his home team Organized Chaos and their local festival.
Team Manager - Terry Nash
Team Manager - Terry Nash
Terry has been a de-facto team manager for three world championships events and is welcomed into this new role. His no-nonsense approach to getting things done, being that go-between with international hosts has him well-suited for the task.

Terry has served DBUSA at Italy, Poland and Russia, building into this role while his wife paddles.
