Dragon Boat USA National Team Trials
Moving toward the international competition season, we would like to offer an additional opportunity to race with another of USA Canoe/Kayak’s US National Teams.
You are being offered the opportunity to become a member of the US National Dragon Boat Junior, Senior and Master's Team which will be competing at the ICF World Championships this coming August 27 - 29, in Szeged, Hungary.
For those with little or no Dragon Boat experience, the transition to Dragon Boat from other paddling disciplines is relatively easy for paddlers with national-level racing experience.
Dragon Boat USA is confident that those who qualify for Team USA's Senior Team will have their expenses subsidized for the travel to and from Szeged, Hungary. Dragon Boat USA has also created a special "support your favorite Athlete" page on the web site so friends and family can make donations on your behalf and receive a tax write off as a result. This will be very helpful for qualifiers of Team USA.
The venue for the World Championships has been changed from, Budapest to Szeged, Hungary so the World Championships can be aired live during the event!
Trials will include an in depth analysis of each athlete using the Merlin Data Acquisition Paddle. This paddle yields a computerized interpretation of each athlete's strength and endurance to their body weight and can quantitatively assess the talent through the water. The feedback about the Merlin's capabilities, from both coaches and athletes, has been tremendous.
