Head Coach Congratulations:
In March of 2017, after much discussion within the Governing Committee and then with Coach Mike, Dragon Boat USA's Governing Committee reaffirmed Mike Blundetto as the Head Coach of Dragon Boat USA for the next 4 years.
We understand Coach Mike's 30+ years of dragon boat experience at the World level and his approach to the sport provides opportunities to both the American Canoe Association and Dragon Boat USA.  When adhered to, Coach Mike brings a level of performance to athletes that is difficult to replicate.
For athletes of all ages and coaches involved, we are confident you will find the Dragon Boat USA experience satisfying.

Congratulations Coach Mike!

Dear Prospective Team USA members for 2018,

We will announce various coaches within the next several weeks.  Know that these coaches will have the best interest of the program I set forth as we set our sights on Lanier.
We intend to name the team much later than we have previously to keep athletes edgy and in better conditioning.  First rounds of qualifying will begin in the spring of 2018 with a final, invitation only team camp in July at the location of ICF Worlds 2018, Lake Lanier, Georgia.
We witnessed some of the fastest times ever in our sport in Moscow and need  to adjust our tryouts to have a better prepared team in terms of overall conditioning.  This is one way we will accomplish this.

Stay engaged and if you need training plans feel free to reach out and we'll supply this for your benefit.

Mike Blundetto

2014 Nations Cup / World Champions

2018 - You are being offered the opportunity to become a member of the US National Dragon Boat Junior, Senior and Master's Teams which will be competing at the 2018 ICF World Championships, September 12 - 16, at the Lake Lanier Olympic Center
For those with little or no Dragon Boat experience, the transition to Dragon Boat from other paddling disciplines is relatively easy for paddlers with national-level racing experience.

Trials will include an in depth analysis of each athlete using the Merlin Data Acquisition Paddle. This paddle yields a computerized interpretation of each athlete's strength and endurance to their body weight and can quantitatively assess the talent through the water. The feedback about the Merlin's capabilities, from both coaches and athletes, has been tremendous. Land based testing will be conducted by regional coaches as well to help select an athlete's strength and conditioning to their body weight.
If you are interested in being part of these National Team Trials and the unique opportunity to be part of Team USA, please fill in the form below or contact Dragon Boat USA through our info email.
